Zugliget Chairlift

The Zugliget Chairlift is a popular means of transportation in the Buda hills and offers wonderful forest views and a panorama of Budapest.

Zugliget Chairlift is open every day exception of maintenance days.

Free travel for children under the age of 3.

There is no price reduction for pensioners and no other travel discounts apply.

Dogs and pets require full price tickets and must be carried in a dog/pet carrier box.

The valley-station of the Chairlift is located in Zugliget, which can be reached by bus No. 291. The terminus of bus 291 is exactly in Zugliget, in front of the valley-station of the Chairlift.

Bus No. 291 departs from Nyugati Pályaudvar (Western Railway Station).

The mountain-station is located on the roof of Hármaskút on the way of Normafa and János-hill. Buses No. 21 and 21A from Széll Kálmán tér run to Normafa, where from the Chairlift is a 20 -30 minutes’ pleasant walk in the forest. Alternatively you can arrive to Normafa by the Children Railway, its János-hegy or Virágvölgy stations are the closest to the upper station of the Chairlift.


Budapest Card:

The Zugliget Chairlift is free in both directions with the Budapest Card.  

 

Buda Castle Funicular

Travel with the Buda Castle Funicular and enjoy the spectacular panorama of the Danube!

 

Opening hours: 08:00 -22:00

It runs continuously in every 5-10 minutes according to the passenger demand.

The Funicular is closed on every Monday on odd weeks during the period of the maintenance works, unless these Mondays are on public holidays. In this case, maintenance work will be performed on the first working day after the bank holiday.

Accessibility

1013 Budapest, District I., Clark Ádám tér - Szent György tér

The valley station is situated on Clark Ádám tér at the Buda side of the Chain Bridge beside the Tunnel.

The mountain station is located on Szent György tér between the Palace of Buda Castle and the Presidential Palace.

The lower station accessible via buses 16 and 105 and trams 19 and 41.

The upper station can be approached by buses 16, 16A and 116.
