Happy Birthday BKV! BUDAPEST’S PUBLIC-TRANSIT COMPANY TURNS 50
One of Budapest’s best features is its outstanding public-transport network, carrying countless passengers around the city and to its furthest outskirts in every direction with buses, trams, subways, boats, a funicular, a chairlift, and other cool conveyances. All of this urban motion has continually rolled along for the last half-century thanks to the city’s BKV transit agency, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this month by highlighting its diverse fleet of modern and vintage vehicles. Plans also call for a series of events for the public to enjoy this moving heritage.
