Eight up-to-date and sound-insulated transformers with a better performance will now supply electricity to a section of tram lines 4 and 6, as well as several trolley bus lines. BKV replaced its current transformers in Kertész street with new, modern equipment. The costs of the investment were financed by the Municipality of Budapest.
Replacing the transformers is an important step in the implementation of the company's sustainability efforts. BKV is committed to providing high-quality service while reducing its environmental impact. In 2023, for the seventh time, the company won the title "Energy Conscious Company" in the Energy Efficiency Excellence Competition launched by the Virtual Power Plant Program.
