Since 2017, BKV has reduced carbon dioxide emissions by almost 15,000 tons through its energy efficiency improvements implemented in recent years. The restrictions imposed during the winter heating season and teleworking - in addition to reducing energy consumption - resulted in a decrease of almost HUF 2 billion in expenses. The recycling rate for non-hazardous waste is consistently over 80 percent. These results are also included in BKV's first sustainability report - prepared in 2022 -, which is now available on the company's website in Hungarian.
