Insurance covering damages caused by BKV
It is well known, that BKV Zrt. is in a difficult financial situation. Therefore our company cancelled the personal accident insurance of passengers with Generali-Providencia Biztosító Zrt. in 2012 since its maintenance is uneconomical, disadvantageous and there is no legal obligation for it. Passengers holding a valid ticket or pass will be insured further on as the insurance of our company covers the whole sum of damage in the future too in cases when responsibility of BKV will be stated. Through this measure BKV realizes a saving of HUF 50 million a year.
Earlier, BKV's personal accident insurance of passengers provided a limited compensation for passengers holding a valid ticket or pass - without examining the liability - when they suffered accident in BKV's industrial site (on escalators, on vehicles, or while boarding or leaving the vehicles). As from 1st January 2012 our insurance covers damages in cases when BKV is responsible for the damage.
Important: irrespective of the fact who caused the damage to the passenger, we are going to help our passengers to settle the case also in the future. When an accident happens, please report it - as in the past - to BKV in 15 days ("Forgalombiztonsági és Ellenőrzési Osztály" 1980 Budapest 8. Pf.: 11.) or by phone (06/1/334-1964, 06/1/461-6500 extension 244-69) or in writing to any branch of Generali-Providencia or to Invest Broker International Kft. assigned for the assessment of damages (1089 Budapest, Orczy út 34.
